Darlene Kellet
Darlene Kellet is a B.C. artist with many talents, but fused glass is what captivates her imagination the most at this stage in her life. Many of her lovely creations reflect her great sense of fantasy and humour, but you can also see her attraction for yoga and meditation in her more contemplative pieces where she depicts enchanting nature themes or strikingly beuatiful Japanese Kanji signs.
"The process of fused glass" says Darlene, " requires the cutting and assembling of pieces of coloured glass into a shape and then firing it in the kiln to fuse the layers together. When making a bowl or a slumped piece, another firing is required to shape the object. Additional firings are sometimes necessary to "polish" the piece again as well. The result is a beautifully reflective piece of glass that can tell a story or set a theme". The following are just a small sample of her creations, please click on the images below to see a larger version of each piece.
