Charles Ciupa
Chales Ciupa is a Stained Glass Artist from Ontario who developed over the last decade a unique style and technique that captures nature in its most delicate and poetic form. The way Charles uses stained glass is a refreshing departure from the stiff, formal style that often limits this medium.
His realistic works are produced by carefully selecting pieces of high quality stained glass, cutting them with his own particular way and painting them like the Medieval European glass artists used to in the 13th century.
His creations reflect a special sensitivity and sophistication that understands the fluid, elegant lines of a weeping branch and the natural body movement peculiar to each of the species that he portrays. His charming birds, butterflies and dragonflies (and other insects) are mounted on natural-looking tree branches made out of copper wire complete with glass berries and leaves.
